Firmware 3.72 released, includes PS3 Remote Start
October 30, 2007 on 11:27 pm | In Uncategorized | Comments OffFirmware 3.72 has been released today, and includes an update for Playstation titles, as well as a Remote Start feature for the PS3. This feature will become usable once the PS3 has been updated to firmware 2.0, which we would expect within the week. What's new in firmware 3.72: Support for PLAYSTATION ®Network titles has been expanded. Support has been added for [Remote Start] of the PS3 system under [Remote Play]. For once, the update is available instantly on the System Update page, but it is also accessible on the Network Update of your PSP, which is the easiest way to update. Yes, you will lose any homebrew capabilities if you update, unless you're familiar with the Pandora Battery. If you're at a custom firmware but would like to update, I'd recommend downgrading to firmware 1.50, and then updating via the Network Update.

Yes, this may cause some temporary hiccups, but it's all for the better. It's a bit tricky to integrate the new software, so you may experience troubles within the next 48 hours, but nothing should cause a large disturbance. If you'd like, you're welcome to post any feedback, comments, or opinions in the comments below. Please realize that whatever you're seeing is likely a work-in-progress, and not a finished project. Update: The current forum software has been frozen. To continue to post in the forums, head over here.
