Weekly Releases for 4/27-5/3

April 27, 2008 on 12:47 pm | In Uncategorized | Comments Off

Nothing terribly special this week, but a few titles in each region, which is good to see. GameStop is listing Iron Man for May 2nd, which I wasn't aware of. I can't say Hollywood movies make great video games, but with Marvel involved, it could be a different story. Additional, Europe can get it's board game on this week, and Japan gets a little bit of space/alien action. United States: SNK Arcade Classics Vol. 1 (Crave Entertainment) - April 29th Chameleon (Tommo) - April 29th Iron Man (SEGA) - May 2nd Europe: Ultimate Board Game Collection (Empire Interactive) - May 2nd Japan: Nippon no Asoko de (SCEJ) May 1st Australia: None Please note: Release dates are liable to change at any time. We provide you with the most up-to-date information each week, here at PSP-Vault. Call your local game provider to verify the release date before ordering.

Custom Firmware 3.93 Released!

April 27, 2008 on 8:58 am | In Uncategorized | Comments Off

Last night PSP-Gen posted a custom firmware based on the original M33 custom firmwares. The firmware doesn't have any special name, however, it is fully functional and comes with some new features, these include; a new in-xmb recovery menu, Hellcat's Savegame Deemer plugin, the ability to hide your MAC address, and the ability to create a Pandora's battery from the recovery menu. There is no 1.50 addon for this firmware yet, but hopefully one will be created soon! To install this firmware you will need a 3.52 M33-4+ firmware. Once you have that please follow these instructions: First download the firmware from our File Vault. Extract the files within the archive to your computer. Copy the "PSP" folder to the root of your memory stick (the upper most folder). Your computer may ask if you would like to overwrite a folder, click yes. Download the 3.93 firmware update and extract the files to your computer. Rename the EBOOT.PBP within that archive to 3.93.PBP. Copy the 3.93.PBP file to root of your memory stick. Run the update from your PSP's GAME menu. Make sure you press X when you are told to or you will have a bricked PSP!As always by using this firmware you accept all responsibility for what happens to your PSP's software and/or hardware. Screenshots after the jump. Update: PSP-Gen has just posted a 1.50 addon for PSP-1000's plus a small update to their firmware. The update adds the ability to turn off your PSP, restart your PSP, and pause your PSP via the VSH recovery menu. To install this addon/update you must already have installed the above firmware. Follow these instructions to update: Download the update from our File Vault. If you have a PSP-1000, download the 1.50 update, otherwise skip this step. Extract all files to your computer. Copy the "PSP" folder within the addon/update folder to the root your memory stick, and click yes to overwrite any folder your computer asks you to overwrite. If you have a PSP-1000, copy the 1.50 EBOOT.PBP, named 150.PBP, to the root of your memory stick, otherwise skip this step. Run the update from your PSP's GAME menu.If you have a PSP-1000 the update will add the 1.50 addon plus the new features, and if you have a PSP-2000 the update will only add the new features. Thanks to PsYchOheAd for the tip! [Via, PSP-Gen]

If you recall, we mentioned Sky would be working with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to bring video-on-demand to the region, way back when. We couldn't confirm pricing or a launch date. Calendar and File Vault Update Wrap-Up

April 26, 2008 on 6:59 pm | In Uncategorized | Comments Off

I have been doing a lot of calendar updates this past week. To help summarize and inform you (the members) about what I have done with the Calendar and File Vault and what I will continue to do with the Calendar and File Vault, I have written this article. So what have I done so far? I have created three new Calendar categories; US Game Releases, EUR Game Releases, AU Game Releases, and JPN Game Releases. I have revised the Calendar to make it consistent with JustEaton's weekly release articles. I have updated the Calendar with all game releases I can find on the Internet for all available regions (US, EUR, AU and JPN). I have added game save categories to the File Vault representing the new game titles added to the Calendar. I have been updating the File Vault with new homebrew featured in the Homebrew Newsbits and the Development Newsbits.I will continue to do everything I have mentioned above for each new title added to the Calendar in all regions and every homebrew release featured in the newsbits. If you have a suggestion for the Calendar or File Vault please post it in the comments of this article or please feel free to PM me.
